Home court wins again.
The Raptors took care of home court with phenomenal play from their bench. Jose Calderon is one of the most impressively efficient guards in the league. He and Kapono came off the bench along with the rest of the reserves and outplayed the Magic, outscoring them 42 to 24. The inconsistent Magic back court cost them the game, while the front court played well as they routinely do, except for the 6 turnovers from Howard. Look out to see if Nelson can bounce back and Bogans can maybe hit a couple threes just to keep the defense honest.
The Cavaliers finally came up short. You knew they would struggle to score at some point, and the Wizards capitalized. The Wizards might have played well without Arenas for the vast majority of the season, but to see him limp off the court after 10 minutes of play must be pretty disheartening. Even without Arenas, I see the Wizards winning this series and then playing surprisingly well against the Celtics (that series is over). I’m not saying they will beat the Celtics, however, they may tire them enough to give the Pistons an edge, that is, if the Pistons don’t give anymore games away.
